FACT FOOD #1993

Wilhelmsberg or Mount Wilhelm or also known as the Enduwa Kombuglu in the local Kuman language, at 4,509 metres it is the highest peak of Papua New Guinea. The German name for this mountain is courtesy of Hugo Zöller, who climbed and named the range and a mountain after Otto von Bismarck (Ottoberg) and the three other peaks in the range after Bismarck’s children – Herbertberg, Marienberg, and Wilhelmberg.
