William Sims Bainbridge is an American sociologist who is renowned for his work on religion sociology. Together with Rodney Stark, the duo co-authored books on the theory of religion such as The Future of Religion: Secularization, Revival and Cult Formation (1985), A Theory of Religion (1987) and Religion, Deviance and Social Control (1996).
