FACT FOOD #1970

Raymond Houghton, a Scottish born footballer, spent a long time playing for Liverpool during the late 80s and early 90s. However, he is best remembered while donning the colours of Ireland (his father being Irish) in international football. At the 1988 Euro championships, his solitary goal was enough to win against England, and at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, his goal won the match for Ireland against Italy.
