They say there is no feeling like winning your debut Grand Prix in front of your home crowd. Liverpool was the venue of the 1955 British Grand Prix and it was held in Aintree Circuit, known for its racecourse. Stirling Moss led a Mercedes 1-2-3-4 to win his first race. The race went ahead despite the German, Swiss and Spanish cancellations in the wake of Le Mans disaster.
