Liverpool was the venue of the 1955 British Grand Prix and it was held in Aintree Circuit, known for its racecourse. Stirling Moss led a Mercedes 1-2-3-4 to win his first race. The race went ahead despite the German, Swiss and Spanish cancellations in the wake of Le Mans disaster.
