Flying Down to Rio is a 1933 musical that features Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in one of their early screen pairings. One of the songs that became popular is “The Carioca”, which was nominated for the Best Original Song at the Academy Awards but lost to “The Continental,” a song in the movie The Gay Divorcee, another Astaire-Rogers film.
