The Salesman is a 2016 Persian film written and directed by Asghar Farhadi. The movie deals with a husband’s attempts to find the identity of his wife’s attacker, an incident that took place when the couple were on stage performing Arthur Miller’s play Death of a Salesman. Due to the travel ban enforced by the US via its executive order 13769, Farhadi did not attend the 2017 Academy Awards to collect the Best Foreign Language Film.
