The Mummy! is a three-volume novel published in 1827 by Jane Webb (originally anonymously), an English author. Interestingly, she was one of the early pioneers of the genre ‘science fiction’ even before the term was coined. The full title of the 1827 novel perhaps answers this, The Mummy! Or a Tale of the Twenty-Second Century. It deals with the mummy of Khufu, an ancient Egyptian monarch brought back to life in 2126.
