The Square is a 2017 satire and was Sweden’s official submission to the Foreign Language Film Award. The director Ruben Östland wrote the script inspired by social events pieced together to form a social satire. For this work, the movie received the highest accolade at the Cannes Film Festival, Palme d’Or.
