There were plenty of firsts after the 1955 Monaco Grand Prix. Let’s start with the winner, Maurice Trintignant, the first French driver to win a Formula One Grand Prix. It was the first win for the Belgian tyre company, Englebert, and a first podium finish for the Italian drivers, Eugenio Castellotti and Cesare Perdisa (on his debut). It was Lancia’s first podium finish and remains the only one to date.
