Ann Meyers is an icon in women’s basketball. She was the first woman to receive a four-year athletic scholarship for college, at UCLA. She was signed by the NBA team, Indiana Pacers in 1979, thereby becoming the second woman to sign a contract with an NBA team, after Lucy Harris-Stewart (1977 with New Orleans Jazz).
