Changbai Mountain (Chinese) is an active stratovolcano located on the Chinese-North Korean border. It is considered to be a ‘spiritual’ home to the Koreans, as it is mentioned in the national anthem of both Korean states and depicted on the national emblem of North Korea. In addition, it is the highest mountain in North Korea and the Korean peninsula. It is known as Paektu/Baekdu Mountain in Korean.
