The Lady Astronaut of Mars is a 2012 science fiction short story written by the American author Mary Robinette Kowal that deals with alternate history. In 2018, she published a prequel to the short story titled ‘The Calculating Stars’ which happens to be the first in the Lady Astronaut series. The book won the 2019 Nebula Award for Best Novel, and also the 2019 Hugo Award.
