FACT FOOD #1827

At the conclusion of the 1954 British Grand Prix, there was something peculiar about the points table. Juan Manuel Fangio led the table with 28 and one-seventh points. This was as a result of seven drivers splitting a point for having secured the fastest lap in the British Grand Prix. The race was a Ferrari 1-2 with José Froilán González finishing ahead of his teammate Mike Hawthorn.
