In 1982, Rod Stewart recorded the song ‘That’s What Friends Are For’ for the soundtrack of the 1982 Ron Howard’s movie Night Shift. The song written by Burt Bacharach and Carole Sager became a huge hit three years later when a cover version was released by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder (Dionne & Friends). The song was released as a charity single for AIDS prevention and research.
