Ladri di biciclette or translated as ‘Bicycle Thieves’ is a 1948 Italian movie directed by Vittorio De Sica. The movie was adapted from Luigi Bartolini’s novel of the same name. It is one of the finest examples of Italian neorealism post World War II. It won the Best Foreign Language Film at the 1949 Academy Awards.
