Sciuscià is a 1946 Italian movie that narrates the story of two shoeshine boys and their struggles with the police authorities while trying to get some money to buy a horse. The English translation of the title is ‘Shoeshine’. The movie directed by Vittorio De Sica was the first foreign language movie to win the Academy Award under that category. At that time, the award was known as ‘Honorary Award’.
