Yacht rock is a type of music style that is associated with soft rock. The online video series Yacht Rock gave its name to this music genre associated with ‘sailing’, a popular activity in South of California. One such song that was retro-fitted to this genre was Christopher Cross’ 1980 song “Sailing”. It won a lot of awards at the 1981 Grammys including Song of the Year.
