In the aftermath of the Heysel Stadium Disaster that over-shadowed the 1985 European Cup finals, UEFA, the governing body of football in Europe banned English clubs from European Football for five years. The reason being the Liverpool fans breached a fence separating the two groups of supporters and charged the Juventus fans.
