Between the years 1965 and 1972, Bruce Johnston was part of Beach Boys replacing Glen Campbell. Later on, he went solo and wrote the song ‘I Write the Songs’ that became a hit with the voice of Barry Manilow, for which he won the 1977 Grammy Award for Song of the Year.
