Hermann Lang was a German race driver who had some of this best drives behind the wheels of Mercedes in the 1930s and before the onset of World War II. Postwar, he could never go back to being his best and raced only in two Formula One races – one in 1953 at the Swiss Grand Prix, which earned him 2 points for a fifth-place finish and the 1954 German Grand Prix, which he retired.
