The Way We Were is a 1973 drama that starred Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand based on the novel by Arthur Laurents. It won accolades at the Oscars for the Best Original Dramatic Score and the Best Original Song for the theme song. The song was written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman and Marvin Hamlisch was included in Streisand’s fifteenth album ‘The Way We Were’ and the song won the Best Song of the Year at the 1975 Grammys.
