At the 1953 Swiss Grand Prix, Alberto Ascari achieved his 13th F1 victory which gave him his second consecutive driver’s title. His win at the Bremgarten circuit was his last ever victory, a podium finish and a race finish in Formula One. The next two years, in the six races he took part in, he retired in each of those races.
