In Greek mythology, Pygmalion is a sculptor who fell in love with a statue he had carved. It was the title chosen by George Bernard Shaw which was first presented on stage in 1913. A writer of over sixty plays, George Bernard Shaw was awarded the 1925 Nobel Prize in Literature for his contributions in the field of drama and literary criticism.
