Roberta Flack had a streak of number ones in the early 70’s with songs such as “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”, and “Killing Me Softly with His Song” – the two songs that won her the Grammy Song of the Year in consecutive years in 1973 and 1974, thereby making her the first solo artist to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year on two consecutive years.
