FACT FOOD – MDLXXXVI

Chlopi is a four-part novel written by the Polish author Wladyslaw Reymont in the early part of the 20th century. The four parts is a reference to the four seasons in the lives of peasants. The word ‘Chlopi’ translates to ‘peasants’ in Polish and Reymont won the 1924 Nobel Prize in Literature, the second Polish writer to win after Henryk Sienkiewicz.
