At the 1953 British Grand Prix, Alberto Ascari driving for Ferrari was unstoppable. The battle was between the Italian car manufacturers Ferrari and Maserati and it reflected in the fact that two drivers shared a point for scoring the fastest lap – Ascari for Ferrari and José Gonzalez for Maserati.
