FACT FOOD – MDLXXXI

Dorothea Jordan was an Anglo-Irish actress, mistress, and companion of William Henry, for 20 years (1791-1811) while he was Duke of Clarence. William Henry went on to become the king (William IV) of the United Kingdom and Hanover in 1830.  They had 10 children together, all of whom took the surname FitzClarence.
