“You’ve Got a Friend” appeared in Carole King’s second album Tapestry. Since the original release, there have been many cover versions including by James Taylor for his album Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon. Carole King’s version won her the Grammy ‘Song of the Year’ and Taylor won the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
