George Augustus Frederick also known as George IV married Caroline of Brunswick (her mother was the sister of King George III) in 1795. Within days of their marriage, it was clear that things wouldn’t work between them and they separated after she gave birth to their child nine months after marriage. The dislike continued that in 1820 when he became King George IV, he requested a bill called The Pains and Penalties Bill 1820 to the British Parliament to dissolve the marriage and thereby deprive her the title of Queen of Great Britain and Ireland. The bill was passed but soon withdrawn because it didn’t go well with the public.
