Five Star Final was a play written by Louis Weitzenkorn inspired by his time as an editor at the New York Evening Graphic. The play ran well over 100 150 shows on Broadway and its popularity was noted by Warner Brothers who adapted the play starring Edward G. Robinson. Five years later, the movie was remade in a radio station setting as One Fatal Hour with Humphrey Bogart playing Robinson’s role.
