The composer Henry Mancini teamed up with Johnny Mercer (lyrics) to create ‘Moon River’, originally written for Audrey Hepburn to sing in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s. It won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. An album version without Hepburn’s vocals was recorded by Mancini and his orchestra and chorus that won the Grammy Best Song of the Year in 1962.
