The 1952 Belgian Grand Prix was the first of the remaining six races that Ferrari’s Alberto Ascari took part. Mike Hawthorn, the 1958 World Champion made his Formula One debut in a Cooper-Bristol. Ascari won the race from pole position and produced the fastest lap of the race to open his points account in the 1952 season.
