The 1965 European Cup finals saw Inter Milan become the third football club to win the trophy in successive years after Real Madrid and Benfica. They defeated Benfica 1-0 in their home ground of San Siro, thus making them one of the few clubs to have won the European Cup/Champion’s League in its home stadium.
