The Hollywood Revue (the French term for ‘review’) of 1929 can be considered to be one of the first all-star movies. However, the movie is without a plot but an avenue to showcase the famous Hollywood and Broadway stars at that time. The song ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ was featured in the movie and this song inspired the opening credits of the 1952 movie ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.
