The 1950 French Grand Prix was held at Reims-Gueux, a temporary road circuit northeast of Paris. It was notable for Fangio’s win and thus enabled him to take the lead in driver’s championships with one race to go. Another first was that Ferrari entered the race however they did not start the race. Peter Whitehead came third in a Ferrari, but it was a private entry and not from the team.
