The 1950 Belgian Grand Prix was held at Spa-Francorchamps, the place where the Belgian Grand Prix is currently held (with track modifications). Only 14 cars made the race entry and that included a sole Belgian. Johnny Claes, an English-born jazz trumpeter, and a bandleader took to racing post-World War II. He competed for Belgium under the Ecurie Belge banner with Talbot-Lago car. He finished eighth.
