Varsovienne or varsoviana is a slow dance that combines the elements of waltz, mazurka, and polka. The dance originated in 19th century in Warsaw, Poland. The words are French and Spanish feminine adjectives which mean ‘from Warsaw’. This dance tune features in Tennessee William’s play A Streetcar Named Desire.
