The Brougham carriage is believed to have been designed by Baron Henry Brougham, a British statesman. It had a low body and appeared to have had the front part of the coach cut away. It had a forward facing seat designed for two passengers. This design inspired the Brougham car body style where the driver sat outside and the passengers sat within the enclosed cabin.
