Ostrava, the third largest city in the Czech Republic is the capital of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The city’s mention dates back to 13th century and took its name from the River Ostra, now known as Ostravice. The river divides the city into two parts: Moravian Ostrava and Silesian Ostrava. The city is located where the four rivers meet: the Odra, Opava, Ostravice, and Lucina.
