After the division of Germany following World War II, East Germany didn’t take part in Winter Olympics until 1968. As East Germany, they won 110 medals including 39 gold medals. For the years 1956, 1960 and 1964, they participated as United Team of Germany and since 1992, Germany has fielded one team at the Winter Games.
