Being a former British colony, Australia is no stranger to cricket. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that a cricket ground hosted the first Australian Open (it was called Australasian championships) and it was Warehouseman’s Cricket Ground (now known as Albert Cricket Ground) in St. Kilda, Victoria.
