Women’s championships in Australian Open tennis started in 1922. Esna Boyd had a great chance to win all the three titles at the first Australian Open. She managed to convert two of those into wins – doubles and mixed doubles. She lost the finals to Margaret Molesworth. Esna Boyd appeared in seven consecutive singles finals from 1922 to 1928 and won once in 1927.
