Continuing with Roy Emerson, he appeared in 15 singles Grand Slam finals and won 12 of them. On all three occasions, he lost to Rod Laver in the same year (1962). Out of the 16 doubles titles, his only non-Australian partner with whom he won a title was Manolo Santana, when they won the 1963 French Open doubles.
