The 1975 science fiction sports movie, Rollerball was based on a 1973 short story titled ‘Roller Ball Murder’, which first appeared in the September issue of Esquire. It was adapted to the screen by the short story writer William Harrison. Interestingly, the movie is set in the year 2018.
