In the second installment of Indiana Jones, the story takes place in India. Mola Ram, played by late Amrish Puri is the main antagonist and makes his appearance an hour into the movie. His characterisation was inspired by the cult leader portrayed by Eduardo Ciannelli, in the 1939 movie Gunga Din.
