In 1985, the Games of the Small States of Europe was first opened in San Marino. It is a biennial multi-sport event and the organisation currently consists of nine small European states. They are – San Marino, Andorra, Cyprus, Malta, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Iceland, and Montenegro.
