The series of watercolor paintings painted by William Blake is known as The Great Red Dragon Paintings. The series was painted between the years 1805 and 1810. One of the four paintings, The Great red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun was an inspiration for Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon. These paintings depict the scenes from the Book of Revelation.
