Padua/Padova, a commune in Northern Italy comes under the Venetian region. In English literature, among many, there are two associations to Padova. Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew is for most parts set in this city and a play by Oscar Wilde has the title, ‘The Duchess of Padua’.
