Pastor Maldonado’s victory at the 2012 Spanish Grand Prix was the first time a Venezuelan driver ever won an F1 race. Prior to this, Johnny Cecotto’s sixth-place finish at the 1983 United States Grand Prix West in Long Beach, California was the best result.
